Meet Coach Cathy
Coach Cathy Deics is an expert in nutrition and fitness. She has been working as a registered dietitian in various settings since 1991. She is considered an entrepreneur in the wellness arena - becoming a certified fitness professional in 1987. She was in the first class of certified personal trainers through the Amercian Council on Exercise in 1996. She earned the Certified Diabetes Educator certificate in 1997. Her clients include members of the Winnipeg Cycling Club, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Northern State University athletic teams and numerous strength training and endurance athletes as well as fitness club members in Winnipeg, Canada, Moorhead, MN, and Aberdeen, SD.
She now resides in Bismarck, ND and consults with patrons of The Spa and members of the Golden Seals Swim Club. She has conducted multiple media interviews and has served as a spokesperson for the American Heart Association, the National Beef Council and the South Dakota Soybean Producer's Research and Promotion Council.
Cathy earned her dual B.A. degrees in Nutrition and Exercise Science in 1990 from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. Active in several professional organizations, Cathy is presently a member of:

In 2000, Cathy was awarded Outstanding Young Dietitian of the Year by the South Dakota Dietetic Association where she served in various leadership roles for 8 years.
In addition to individual counseling, Cathy has provided multiple professional presentations on health, nutrition and fitness topics to corporations, schools, universities, clubs and community groups. She is known for her contagious enthusiasm and ability to teach people how to transform negative thought patterns. In her spare time, she enjoys competing in triathlons and has completed 4 marathons. She teaches Spin classes, participates in yoga and volunteers in the various activities of her husband and their two children.
